Elders ensure that members are carefully shepherded and nurtured through prayer and well-balanced teaching, that the church as a whole is healthy and that care is provided for the spiritual and physical well-being of members.
The Oakridge elders actively seek to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit among themselves as a group and also among the members of the Oakridge church community, particularly in regard to key decisions and directional issues. They have biblical authority and accountability and are responsible to discern the leading and direction of the Holy Spirit for the church body. Elders also seek input and consultation from members of the church.

Deacons serve under the authority of the elders with the purpose of leading various ministry areas. Specific responsibilities for deacons and related teams, are developed through consultation with the elders and the church based on practical needs, vision, and opportunities for the fulfillment of Oakridge’s mission as a church.
